My Very First Blog Award

I have been a bad blogger.  Earlier this month both Marie and Susan awarded me the Stylish Blogger Award and I am just now posting it.  I was so surprised to receive this award twice within a 7 day period.  Thank you both!

This gift comes with the rules that I must follow in order to accept this award.
Rules:

1. Thank the person who gave this award to me and link it back to their blog
2. Share 8 things about myself
3. Pass this award to 8 other individuals that I have recently discovered and am inspired by
4. Leave a comment on their blogs so that they can pass along the recognition!
5. I need to go on each of my inspiring stampers sites and tell them that I think they are all winners in our stamping world and then have them pass along an award of recognition to some other lucky stylish bloggers out there!!!

Marie is one of my teammates from the CMC Copic Challenge and a great inspiration!  Her coloring is just beautiful.  Check out this card that she made.  Beautiful!

Susan makes some wonderful cards as well AND she's not afraid to show you what's on her workdesk on Wednesdays.  I love this card of Susan's that has just a bit of color.  So simple and so cute with those papers and twine (gotta love the twine).

Now 8 things about myself...

1.  I have lived in 11 cities and 5 states.
2.  In high school I was on the Powderpuff football team.  We won both years!
3.  Halloween is one of my favorite holidays.
4.  I love to bake.
5.  I can operate a backhoe/bulldozer.  Not the big, big ones, but the smaller ones.
6.  I can swing a pretty mean sledgehammer.  Got the scar on my finger to prove it.
7.  I've got a chocolate lab that weighs as much as a small car.
8.  My most prized Christmas ornament is one that I made in elementary school out of Elmers glue and dry pasta.  We call it the "barf ornament".

I would like to share this award with:

Tracey - Tracey's Krafts
Cathy - Cathy's Creative Place
Ann - Holy Crap, I made this!
Tracey - my creative space
Madge - The Creations of a Scrapaholic Paperjunkie
Sharette - Scrapper "N" The Making
Diane - The Little Place I Go
Jane - Milliesmarvels

Please take a minute to visit each of their blogs as they have some wonderful work to share!

By LORi Designs Color Challenge

This weeks color challenge at By LORi Designs was a bit easier for me as I knew exactly what image and what papers I wanted to use.  Here are this week's colors.

Plus, Lori's got a new way to win.  You can not only win by entering this color challenge with an image from By LORi Designs, but if you use one of Lori's images and win any challenge out in blogland you will win a $3 digi from BLD.  Read the details here.  How great is that!  Be sure to head over to the By LORi Designs Challenge Blog to see what the other DT members have to share.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

You're Sweet

It's time for another event for the Color Me Creative Birthday Celebration!  There are events every day and still plenty of prizes to be had.  For more details, including information on the grand prize, A NEW 2011 Provocraft Cricut Expression (limited edition) and $50 of Copic Supplies, go here.

Today Suzanne has a color challenge for us.  You must use yellow, purple, and white/cream on your creation.

Stamps: Bugaboo Stamps; sentiment is computer generated  Paper: EK Success, Creating Keepsakes  Ink: Copics  Misc: Ribbon, rhinestones, Diamond Glaze, glitter, Stickles

I got these papers at my LSS and wish I would have picked up the whole stack b/c now they are gone.  I just love them.  Plus the striped paper has a velvetty feel to it.  (Is velvetty a word?)  I added Diamond Glaze to the scoops of ice cream and then sprinkled a bit of glitter on top.  Also I added Stickles to his antennae and his wings.  I'm working on my coloring and have been trying Suzanne's "flicking" technique to blend the colors.  I'm happy with how he turned out but wanted his wings to be lighter.  Another thing I'll have to work on...light to dark.

Don't forget to head over to the CMC Birthday Event to join in the fun!

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

There She Goes Stamps - Sketch
Scrap-Creations - Anything Goes
Shelly's Images - Anything Goes
Paper Cutz- Anything Goes

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

Sending my love

This is my second post today. If you are looking for the By LORi Designs Color Challenge post go here.

Here's a card I made quick and with a stamp set that would have been perfect for Valentine's Day.  I've had this set for a few months and just forgot about it.  Oh well.  Here's my card...

Stamps: There She Goes  Ink: Color Box Chianti, Vintage Photo Distress Ink  Misc: Corner punch

This card kinda scares me because there's nothing on it.  It just feels like it's not quite done yet.  But, it is nice to have a card that you can just throw a first class stamp on without having to worry about extra postage or special packaging.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Paper Sundaes - Keep it Simple!
Digi Doodle - Anything Goes
Crazy 4 Challenges - Card with a tree on it
One Stop Craft Challenge - Clean and Simple

See you all on Friday!
