February Calendar Page

So I've been meaning to make a cute calendar for 2011, but hadn't gotten around to it until now.  I'm really happy with how this turned out and can't wait to do the rest of the year.  I might even go back and do one for January (ok, probably not).   I know I just used this cute Tilda stamp on a card a few days ago, but I thought she would be perfect for my February calendar page.

Just for You

I didn't have much time to make a card today so I decided to use one of the colored images from Tiddly Inks.  After I decided which image to use the card came together quickly.  I'm on an easel card kick so you'll probably be seeing a few more of those for a while.  I ran it through the sewing machine (which has become a quicker process now that we have made nice with each other), added some buttons, twine, and the computer generated sentiment.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Card Ideas - Fabulous Folds
Sunday Sketch & Stamp - Sketch
A Spoonfull of Sugar - Valentine

That will probably be all from me until Monday.  Have a great weekend!

It's My Party!

This is my first time using this cute Lili of the Valley stamp that I won. It's called "It's My Party" and doesn't she just say it all.  The sentiment is from Raindrop Echo.  I thought it went well with the image. I stitched around the panels, added some flowers, a charm, and pretty much smeared Stickles all over the rest of it.

Stupid Cupid

I just love this Stella image from Bugaboo Stamps. I stitched the bottom layer, pieced her dress and shoes, added a bit of sparkle to her wings and the hearts, put a bit of Diamond Glaze on her glasses, and topped it off with a ribbon, brad, and the cute sentiment that comes with her.  Now she's ready for Valentine's Day.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Here's my second card for the day.  I got this cute Ella image from By LORi Designs recently and was finally able to color her up.  The images are just adorable and she was really quick to color (which is great when you're in a hurry).   The cute ticket sentiment is a freebie from Stamp Happy!.

Birthday Fairy

I made this card for someone that is celebrating her 62nd birthday later this month.  I first saw this stamp on Mary's blog and loved Mary's card so much I CASEd her image.  The image is from Mo's Digital Pencil Shop.  I added the "62" at the end of her wand and I popped up the end of her wings.  Keeping with my resolution to try new things I made this card a gatefold one.  It took a bit longer than it should have, but I'm really happy with how it turned out.  I just need to add a sentiment to the inside.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Flutterby Wednesday - Sketch
Paper Pretties - Unique Fold

Coffee Mug Gift Set

Ok, so one of my goals for 2011 was to try some new things and get out of my comfort zone.  I saw this project somewhere (I don't remember exactly where) and thought I'd give it a shot.  Turns out it's a piece of cake (or a cup of coffee).  I followed the Scor-Pal tutorial here.  It took me longer to arrange the flowers in it than it did to actually put the coffee mug together  I thought this would make a nice teacher gift for Valentine's day; maybe fill it with some cocoa or candy.  Since I don't have either of those right now I decided to fill it with some of my flowers from Wild Orchid.

I am entering this set into the following challenges:

Fussy and Fancy Friday Challenge - Card and Matching 3-D Gift
JustRite - Scoring
Waltzingmouse - Sketch (on the coffee mug)

Snips & Snails

It's baaaaaaack!  My mojo that is.  I typically plan my cards the night before I actually do them, but I came across this Sugar Nellie image that I got a week ago and the card just kind of fell into place.  The only thing I'm not sure about is the ribbon.  Do you guys typically put ribbon on a boy's card?  Just curious.  Anywho, here it is.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

The Sugar Bowl - Sketch plus embossing
Creative Inspirations - Use something new on your project (digi stamp & paper)
Cupcake Craft Challenges - Something new (stamp & paper)
Pollycraft Monday - New things (stamp & paper)
The Crazy Challenge  - Animals
One Stop Craft Challenge - A Card for a Child
Really Reasonable Ribbon  - Something new (digi & paper) plus ribbon

Off to try to make another card before my mojo heads for the hills again.  Have a great evening!

Sunshiney Day

Well, I decided it was time to make nice with my sewing machine.  We have an on/off relationship.  We've been off for a while, but I decided it was time to see if it was ready to come out and play.  It took a bit of coaxing but I was able to get it to play nice with me.  The inside and outside of the card have been sewn.  I wasn't sure about these papers when I got them, but I absolutely LOVE them.  Now I have to figure out where I got them so I can get more.  The stamp is one that I won in December for Magnolia's Advent Calendar.  Actually I got a few stamps from that win, so you'll be seeing quite a few Magnolia cards from me.  I tried a different type of bow.  I followed the tutorial here.  I think it would look better is I had wider ribbon, but I really wanted to use this ribbon.  Anyway, here's Tilda....

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

C.R.A.F.T. Challenge - Sketch

Cowboy Courage

I made this card for an uncle that is having a birthday.  I might have gotten a little carried away with the distress ink but otherwise I think it turned out pretty cute.

The image is from Bugaboo Stamps and the quote on the outside of the card is one of many freebies from The Digi Shack.  The sentiment inside is computer generated.  The metal stars are actually spacers for necklaces.  I think they look pretty good on this card.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Top Tip Tuesday - Metal Mickey (use metal)
Charisma Cardz - Birthdays & Celebrations
Paper Cutz - Use metal
Stamp Something - Use a digi
Wee Memories - Use twine

That's all I've got for today, but hopefully I'll be back with more tomorrow.

Best/Favorite Project of 2010

The Stamp Man Challenge Blog is having a blog hop and award event.  Their challenge is to pick your best or favorite project from 2010.  I'll admit I had a difficult time with this as I don't typically like to pat myself on the back for my work, but there was one card that I especially enjoyed making.

I made this back in October and just love how it turned out.  I love making easel cards (I should make them more often) and this stamp from Bugaboo went perfectly with these papers.  I added some Wild Orchid flowers, ribbon from my stash, and some bling.  I made a box to put it in and decorated that as well.  I'm even pretty happy with my photography.

I hope you enjoyed my little blast from the past and I hope to get my mojo back as it's been missing for a few days.  Hopefully I'll have more cards like this to share in 2011.

Thank You Card

Happy New Year!!! I had planned to make & post a few cards over the weekend but my computer had other plans.  Since my computer desk and my crafting desk are one in the same I had to choose.  I decided I can go longer without making a card than I can without a computer (although not much longer).  Needless to say all of the bugs have been kicked out (knock on wood) and I'm happy to be making cards again in My Padded Craft Room.

Today's card is one of several thank you cards I will be making.  I used a Stampin' Up! stamp that I won a few weeks ago over on Cindy's blog.  I think it will be a very versatile set.

Well, after looking at my card more closely I realized I forgot to add the sentiment (too many days without crafting).  So here is the finished product.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

City Crafter - Stamp it Out!  (no digi)

C.R.A.F.T. Challenge - Thank You
